"Nyokum" that ignited a new point of view

My goodness, my legs are shouting for a good rest. A new, fun and learning experience in my life, no it is not simply just about Nyokum or how I danced the whole time with no hesitation, it is about meeting the new persona of mine, and getting to know people from a different point of view and also how to start knowing people regardless of my adapted culture and prejudice.
Every people deserve the same treatment beforehand of his/ her future actions.
It is my second semester period of MA degree, and by now, I somehow know my classmates in a better manner. Most of my classmates are Nyishi, and they have a very different culture as compared with my culture and tradition. I cannot precisely assert of how they have been brought up or in which kind of ambiance they have been surrounded since their childhood, because I have never spent a whole day or few couple of days in a Nyishi household, and again, all Nyishi are not the same. But in general, I have experience and felt that they are way more open up, welcoming, generous and raw as compared with the people of my tribe. No I am not praising or bashing any of the tribe by doing comparison; it is just my personal evaluation.
If I had not known my Nyishi classmates’ personalities beforehand, I would have looked them and perceive their behavior differently. The not very positive judgment on my head about their action would subconsciously already have been passed in few seconds, even before trying to comprehend or analyze of why they are doing that or why I am even judging them in that manner. Hear out my explanation for this. It is true that “one sees the world according to how she or he has been shown” by their elders, culture and tradition. No person on earth comes out of their mother’s womb with preinstalled perception of the world. Every household will have their different values about malicious aspects; off course the general ethics and values might be same in context of community, tribe or state. But again, it differs from tribe to tribe. And when a person encounters something which does not go hand in hand or is not favorable with his/her adapted values, then that person tend to pass a judgment; just like how a jurisdiction passes judgment according to the already enshrined laws.
This culture and tradition has built a fence in our brain; saturating our cognition in a definite fixed cage. This cage may be meant to guard us or may be it works as a kind of precaution and safety measure, but it also true that this cage does not let the free flow of communication occur between different people of different backgrounds. Sometimes it may become a barrier in knowing different people and in exploring and analyzing the world. In other words, I feel like prejudice or any kind of day to day judgment is highly depended and influenced by our adapted culture, traditions, ethics and values, and it does not allow us to entirely comprehend or examine any individual, or those notion, situation, etc. which does not go along with our adapted moral and ethics. It is like the protective wall which protects us, but also at the same time, does not allow us to see what is happening on the other side. Building a transparent protective wall might be the most beneficial wall one can have; in sense, one must have an unprejudiced and liberal mind set besides his/her adapted morals and values.
The following are some of the pictures which will always help me to store the emotion which I was going through at that moment. And the perception or the feelings which I have jotted down now, may vary in the future with time and with different experience, but this blog is dedicated to my current feelings and to all my Nyishi classmates out there.
Traditional attires are always so intriguingly beautiful, and when the kids wear them, then that is on another level of cuteness. So i could not help but capture these two kid who were dolled up with the mini traditional attire.
